Saints of the Living God, GREETINGS!
It is another week, and we thank and rejoice in the Living God, our Heavenly Father, through the Lord Jesus Christ, for His provision, love, care, and his indwelling peace in us by the Divine Person of the Holy Spirit.
Main Bible Scripture: 1John 4 v 12
Other Associated Scriptures: 1John 4 v 17, Romans 5 v 5, Ephesians 5 v 1-2, 1Corinthians 13 v 1-8 and so on.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we thank you for another week of divine health, divine peace, divine provision and divine wisdom and revelation of God, the Father of spirits. We come today, this very hour, in our own accord, to feed our born-again spirit-beings with the rich nutrient of God’s Holy Word. We agree that your Word is the truth. We trust the Holy Spirit to bring the light of God’s Word into our minds and the direction of that Word into our spirits. We trust you, the Lord Jesus Christ, that we will be doers of your Word and not hearers, readers or speakers only. In Jesus Name. Amen
Theme/Subject: Love (Agape) has been perfected in us
In the natural there is a saying that knowledge is power. And it is debatable what kind of power knowledge exerts. Does knowledge exert power to do good or to do evil. But the word of God teachers that knowledge puffs up, but love, Agape edifies or builds up (see 1 Corinthians 8 v 1) But the power of knowledge is meaningless and useless if that knowledge is not acted upon or practiced. This is particularly so when it comes to the new creation person knowledge from the Holy Written Word of God that the love of God, Agape, has been perfected in him or her. The love of God has been perfected in us. The Greek word which translates ‘perfected’ also translates ‘matured.’ The love of God, Agape, has been perfected or matured in us. To the natural man, this knowledge from God’s Word is foolishness. The natural man (person) unlike the spiritual man and the carnal man is NOT born of God in Christ. Although, the natural man is a spirit being but his spirit is not regenerate. The natural man spirit is estranged from the Father of spirits. The natural man is a person who Jesus Christ is not Lord and Saviour. The natural person is not a new creation in Christ. The natural man has no eternal life. The natural man is what you and I called the unbeliever. He is an unbeliever because he is yet to believe and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour (see 1 Corinthians 2 v 14).
To the carnal man, her knowledge from God’s Word that the love of God, Agape, has been perfected in her is either ignored or not acted upon or practiced. This knowledge is not foolishness to her but as a babe in Christ, not desiring to grow in Him, she struggles to put this knowledge into practice. She struggles to speak to herself that with conviction that indeed according to the Scripture, the love of God is perfected in me. Because she struggles to speak this knowledge over and over to herself and to others and be convinced in her spirit (her heart) by it, she now tries to do things in her own strength to prove that the love of God is indeed perfected in us or she absolutely does nothing concerning this knowledge. The carnal man (person) like the spiritual man is born of God in Christ. He has eternal life. But the carnal man is sense ruled and not Christ ruled. Or he or she is not ruled by the Word of God unlike the spiritual man. The carnal man’s sense rule characteristic is self-inflicted and deliberate. The reason for this is that the carnal man lacks the desire, the will and the determination to grow through sound teaching from the Word of God. In the environment of the carnal man, he or she has no appetite or hunger for the meat of the Word of God to gradually grow into maturity in Christ. The carnal man is the milk man, a babe in Christ dominated largely by the senses and not by the Word of God (see 1Corinthians 3 v 1-4, Romans 8 v 4-8).
To the spiritual man, his knowledge from God’s Word that the love of God, Agape, has been perfected in him is gladly received, gladly acted upon; meaning he confesses or says this knowledge to himself and others over and over until such knowledge sinks deep in his spirit to the point that he becomes this knowledge, he epitomises this knowledge, he lives and breath this knowledge that the love of God, Agape, has indeed been perfected in him. He does not struggle to perform this knowledge in front of others to prove that the love of God has indeed been perfected in him. He simply lives the knowledge that the love of God, Agape, has been perfected in him. He does this unconsciously through his sayings and doings in the Name of Jesus. He does this effortlessly through his sayings and doings because he believes that the Word of God is truth (see John 17 v 17) and he also knows that by his own strength and actions, he cannot perfect God’s love in him but he can certainly trust the works that his heavenly Father has done in him through Christ Jesus. He can certainly trust that one of such works is the fact that love, Agape, has been perfected in him, the moment he became a new creation in Christ (2Corinthians 5 v 17). The spiritual man does not only know that the love of God, Agape, has been perfected in him, but he also knows that this love is his new nature. His way of life that is in Christ Jesus – the Lord! The word of God is the final authority in the life of the spiritual man. The spiritual man believes that God’s Word is true or it is the reality and he works and lives God’s Word by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The spiritual man lives and proclaims the gospel of Christ because he or she is aware that it is in the gospel of Christ that the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith. The spiritual man knows that the gospel of Christ is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. The spiritual man is never ashamed of the gospel of Christ either in word or deed (see Romans 1 v 16-17). For he does and say all in the Name of Jesus (see Colossians 3 v 17).
Saints, the love of God, Agape, has been perfected in us. Not only that but that same love has been perfected among us (see 1John 4 v 12 & 17).
Why? This is because the very love of God, Agape, has been shared abroad in our spirits (hearts) by the Holy Spirit who was given to us (see Romans 5 v 5). No wonder, that our heavenly Father knowing what He has done in us and for us in Christ is now asking us to love as Christ Jesus loved us and He is now asking us to forgive as the Father Himself forgave us in Christ. He knows that we can do it because it is He that has perfected His love in us, the moment we receive Christ Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. The Father will not ask us to do any that He has not already equipped us to do. Remember, He is a good Father!
Shalom! To God be the glory forever and ever in Jesus Name by the power of the Holy Spirit. I know that you are blessed by these teachings, why don’t you share them with others to be a blessing also? Saints of the Living God, GREETINGS!
It is another week, and we thank and rejoice in the Living God, our Heavenly Father, through the Lord Jesus Christ, for His provision, love, care, and his indwelling peace in us by the Divine Person of the Holy Spirit.
Main Bible Scripture: Proverbs 18 v 20-21
Other Associated Scriptures: Romans 4 v 17, James 3 v 10, Luke 6 v 43-45, John 6 v 63, Mark 5 v 25 – 34, John 6 v 63 and so on.
Theme/Subject: My son is alive
Our theme or subject is “my son is alive.” Those were the words of a tired looking father whose son was pulled alive from under the rubble after six and half days following the earthquake which struck parts of Turkey and Syria in the early hours of Monday 6th February 2023.
A journalist asked this tired looking father “Did you ever think this [your son pulled alive after six and a half days] would happen? How do you feel?” This tired looking father replied “I kept telling myself, he’s alive, he’s alive, my son is alive.”
As soon as I heard those words from this man, I screenshot his words, the journalist questions and his son laying on a stretcher on my phone. This is because I was watching the news of the earthquake on my phone, so it was possible to screenshot.
Why did this tired looking father’s words touched me so much and I instinctively screenshot those words? This is because the Holy Spirit immediately brought to my remembrance a scripture from Proverbs 18 v 21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”
I will invite you to just imagine the circumstance surrounding this tired looking father. He stood for days looking at a destruction of an enormous scale caused by the earthquake.
He was at the scene not as a volunteer or a spectator but he stood there looking at the collapsed storey building where his son once called home and lived. He stood there knowing that his son was underneath the heap of rubbles. He stood there looking at the rescuers pulling up dead bodies after dead bodies beneath the rubbles. He stood there looking and hearing other families crying for their loved ones, some even gave up hope because six and a half days have passed by since the buildings collapsed caused by the earthquake. But whilst this tired looking father stood and looked on, he kept telling himself amid all the ‘natural giants’ starring at him - the collapsed building, the bodies being pulled out, other families crying and even given up hope. This man stood there and looked on saying to himself “He is alive, he’s alive, my son is alive.” This father was not overwhelmed by what he saw but he was overwhelmed by what he believed and what he spoke – he is alive, he is alive, my son is alive!
In the midst of total devastation and destruction, this tired looking father chose to speak LIFE instead of DEATH. He spoke LIFE into a DEAD situation. He could not find anyone in the midst of all that devastation to share those words of life with, so he kept telling himself “he is alive, he is alive, my son is alive.”
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, the Word of God teaches, and those who love it will eat its fruits.
Certainly, this tired looking father chose to speak life in a ‘dead’ situation and he surely ate the fruit of life. That is, his son was pulled alive six and half days from under the rubbles of a collapsed storey building. He did not start saying his son was alive when he saw the rescuers pulled him alive but he started saying so before they pulled his son alive.
This tired looking father could be a born-again child of God or he could not but he surely understood the spiritual force behind the words we speak. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. If a person chooses to speak life and believes (acts on) what he or she speaks; he or she eats the fruits of life. On the other hand, if a person chooses to speak death and believes what he or she speaks; he or she eats the fruits of death.
Let me ask you, saints, in the current challenging situation that you find yourself, are you speaking life or are you speaking the situation? I encourage you to speak life. Meaning find some scriptures concerning the situation and speak them over the situation and act upon them. For the Word of God is life.
Remember! God’s Word teaches that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” I have chosen to speak life, to speak God’s Word to eat the fruit of life and to impart grace to my listeners– have you?
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father in Christ Jesus we thank you for your incorruptible living Word, that Word has come to us, help us to be doers thereof. In Jesus Name. Amen.
